Such a sweet smile
Such a pretty face
To bad no one can see through this facade
Of the lovely girl in lace
No one sees the pain, the hard life shes had
Some can't even imagine having life so bad
But through it all
she stands strong and tall
The tears she cries are not on the outside
But inside there is a flood
Her hope and dreams dashed
Her self confidence has been bashed
But she doesnt say a word
For she knows she will never be heard
Instead she just smiles
That sweet smile
On that pretty face
What power we invest
in those simple little words
They mean so much to us
and yet they are only words
Why is it so hard to say
when you know that it is true
Why does your heart skip a beat
the first time you say "I love you"?
Running
Running
Running
Ever going faster
Always attempting
But never eluding
The one she's attempting to escape
But she can't keep this pace forever
Her breath is growing short
Her body is begining to tire
Fear flashing through her eyes
She glances back, searching
for any sign of her persuer
In this moment of vunrability
She trips over an unseen branch
Stumbling to the ground
To weak to rise, she lays still
Accepting her fate
I try to meet your eyes with mine
But your eyes are glued to hers
I call your name
But the only voice you hear is hers
I see the happiness on your face
I see the joy in your eyes
She can make you smile
And she can make you laugh
She is everything you ever wanted, and more
But what about me?
I'm the one whom has been labeled "yours"
Shouldnt that expression, that smile
Belong to me?
As I look at my reflection in the cracked mirror
I am reminded of many things
The shattered hopes
and broken dreams
The fragile cloth of my entire life
Ripping apart at the seams
Why did you have to do this?
Do you like to see me suffer?
Do you enjoy my pain?
You acted like you loved me
But now I know it was just an act
A mere facade
You planned it from the begining
You were so convincing
And so I began to believe
I let down my guard
I let myself lean on you
Then you moved away
And I crashed to the ground, broken
Just as the mirror before my eyes
